On Thursday, August 6, 2026, Primary elections will be held for Governor, U.S. Senate, U.S. House, Tennessee Senate (odd-numbered districts), Tennessee House, and Republican and Democratic State Executive Committees. General elections will be held forĀ vacant state judicial offices and applicable county offices.
If you are a Tennessee resident, early voting is open from Friday, July 17, through Saturday, August 1. Check out the GoVoteTN portal from the TN Secretary of State Division of Elections to register to vote, update your registration, find your early voting and election day polling locations, find your county election commission, and find out how to become an election poll worker.
If you are not a TN resident, now is a great time to look up election and voter registration information for where you are a legal resident. Absentee ballots are often available for full-time students, but different states have different processes and timelines. Find out how to vote absentee in your state here (a service of the National Association of Secretaries of State). Your home state’s Secretary of State’s Office is your prime source for election information outside of TN.
