Reusing the same username and password is very convenient, but not secure. It’s tempting to use the same email and password combination across multiple websites, but reusing your university credentials outside of official systems puts the entire campus at risk. If a third-party site is breached (and many are), attackers can test those credentials against university systems to gain access to sensitive data, research, or personal information. This technique, known as credential stuffing, is one of the most common ways attackers break into UT accounts. Always use a unique, strong password for your university login, and never enter your .edu email and password on non-university platforms. Better yet, use a password manager to keep things secure and organized.
