Conversation on Health Disparities with Karen Bernard of The Works 10/4

|

Join us at noon on Friday, October 4, in GEB A202 for a Conversation on Health Disparities with Karen Bernard of The Works. Ms. Bernard is the food programs manager for The Works, a local community development organization that aims to “rebuild, restore, and renew our community’s families, and the environments in which they live through housing, economic development, and social services.”  The Works’ holistic approach to community redevelopment and revitalization includes multiple programs aimed at addressing the food deserts in north and south Memphis. Come learn more about how those programs developed, how they are impacting the neighborhoods they serve, and how you can get involved.

Lunch will be provided for those who RSVP, so RSVP today here: https://uthsc.campuslabs.com/engage/event/10262669

A zoom link will be available for anyone who is unable to join us in person.
