Have you ever watched someone’s camping videos and thought, I wish I could do that? Did you love camping when you were a kid, but haven’t had the time or the gear as an adult? Do you want to feel more confident in the great outdoors? Come to Camping 101!
Join UTHSC Outdoor Rec for Camping 101 at Pickwick Landing State Park March 21-23! We’ll teach you how to set up your tent or hammock, how to stay warm and dry while camping, how to choose a campsite, how to safely cook outside, as well as how to filter water and other potential outdoor concerns. We will provide you with all the gear and food you’ll need! NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY!! Our trained staff will teach you everything you need to know.
Cost of attendance is $10 per person for UTHSC students, $20 per person for all others. Non-UTHSC friends and family are welcome*. Space is limited to 10 participants. We will leave Friday afternoon/evening and return to campus on Sunday morning. RSVP here, or email Jess Guthrie at jguthri9@uthsc.edu with questions.
