The College of Health Professions Seminar Series welcomes Dr. Orli Weisser Pike. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at UTHSC.

Dr. Orli Weisser-Pike earned her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Chatham University. She joined UTHSC in 2008 as the Assistant Director of the Low Vision Service at Hamilton Eye Institute for the Department of Ophthalmology. She joined the Department of Occupational Therapy as a full-time faculty member in 2017. In the past few years, she has taken a particular interest in the role of occupational therapy with children who have brain-based visual impairments, commonly known as cortical or cerebral visual impairment (CVI).

Her current research interests include examining the validity and reliability of assessments of CVI that can be utilized by occupational therapists.

Her seminar is titled “How to recommend an outcome measure: A journey through a systematic review of occupational therapy assessments for cortical/cerebral visual impairment” at noon (CST) on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
