Bystander Intervention: Preventing Domestic Violence in the Workplace

|

Domestic violence and related forms of abuse—such as sexual assault, stalking, and harassment—are pervasive issues that extend far beyond the home. While certain populations are disproportionately affected, no one is immune to the ripple effects of such violence, especially in the workplace. Whether it occurs at home, online, or within the physical workplace itself, domestic violence impacts not only individual survivors, but also their communities and professional environments. 1 in 5 workers report experiencing the effects of domestic violence at work, with two-thirds of these incidents happening on-site. Survivors lose an estimated 8 million days of paid work annually due to domestic violence.

Join the Office of Compliance for our Domestic Violence Awareness Month webinar Bystander Intervention: Preventing Domestic Violence in the Workplace. This empowering session is designed to equip you with the skills to recognize potential abuse situations and take action in a safe and positive way. By participating, you’ll learn strategies for stepping in during moments that require assistance—whether it’s offering support to someone experiencing domestic violence or knowing when and how to call for help during an emergency. We’re committed to creating a safer campus environment, and your involvement is key!
