Activity Overview: The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology will host their annual Kambara DVP Lecture and Residents’ Day. Paul Phillips, MD, the Stella Boyle Smith/Gissur J. Petursson Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) will be this year’s distinguished visiting professor. Dr. Phillips’ presentation is entitled Are We Good Doctors – Do We Know? Three Lessons in Academic Medicine.
Educational Objectives:
- Describe the clinical presentation of ocular myotonia and discuss potential management strategies.
- Review different forms of childhood nystagmus and the diagnostic approach recommended to correctly identify them.
- Explain OCT mapping and how it may improve refractive surgery outcomes.

Continuing Education for Non-Physicians: The UTCOM will issue Certificates of Participation to non-physicians for participating in this activity and designates it for CEUs using the national standard that 1 hour of educational instruction is awarded .1 CEU.
Accreditation: The UTCOM is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
