Dear Colleagues-Friends,
This year, we will be extending the 2024 winter break to include Monday, December 30, and Tuesday, December 31, as paid administrative closing days. Those two extra days will result in the UT Health Science Center campus being closed from Monday, December 23, through Wednesday, January 1, with the exception of those in essential operations and emergency services.
We recognize that our excellent workforce is the foundation for success, and continuing attention to building an outstanding culture for all is of utmost importance. The extended winter holiday, the recent addition of the Juneteenth holiday, and the across-the-board 3% salary increase which will be effective July 1, 2024, are just a few ways we are striving to ensure the UT Health Science Center is an exceptional place to work.
Please enjoy this extended leave, as you have truly earned these days off! We appreciate your hard work and commitment to the UT Health Science Center’s mission and vision – Healthy Tennesseans. Thriving Communities. Your health and wellness are important, and we hope this opportunity will allow you additional time to recharge before we jump into a great new year!
With admiration and gratitude,
Peter Buckley, MD
