|

G. Christopher Wood, PharmD, FCCP, FCCM, BCPS, associate professor of Clinical Pharmacy was selected this month as a preceptor for the American Society of Health-system Pharmacy (ASHP) critical care traineeship program. This program is a five-month course divided into distance learning and experiential education, focusing exclusively on the critical care setting.

Wood has been a faculty member for this program since 2012, but hosted his first trainee, Navid Almani, PharmD, BCPS for two weeks in April at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis. This new site is one of seven in the country. It joins a list of sites that includes the Cleveland Clinic, the Mayo Clinic, and Texas Tech, among others.

According to Dr. Wood, “Dr. Almani spent time with Dr. Boucher and me on the trauma ICU service, with Dr. Joe Swanson on the nutrition support service, with Dr. David Hill in the burn ICU, and Dr. Paige Clement in the general ICU.  I’d like to thank those faculty as well at Drs. Kay Ryan and Marilyn Lee for making Dr. Almani’s visit a success.”Chris Wood JPG cropped
