The Office of Finance gave to the activity cart at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital during the holiday. Senior Vice Chancellor Anthony Ferrara, right and Executive Administrative Aide Jackie Cotton, left, dropped off the donations.

The Office of Finance at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center exemplified a spirit of giving during its annual holiday community service initiative. Team members select an organization to donate to each year. This year, for the first time, they took on a double mission, deciding to give to the Parkway Health and Rehabilitation Center, as well as Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. Donations were collected in November and December

A total of 51 throws for the residents of the rehabilitation center were collected, as well as 120 snack bags provided by the UTHSC Bursar’s Office. For Le Bonheur, team members collected items for the hospital’s activity cart, a cart of arts and crafts, games, and activities that goes from room to room on in-patient floors when volunteers and families come to visit.

The finance team collected 150 coloring activity books for children and adults, four books, three paint canvases, 13 puzzles for children and adults, nine games, and over 2,200 colored pencils and crayons.

“I’m always proud of the efforts of our office,” said Anthony A. Ferrara, CPA, MAS, senior vice chancellor for Finance and Administration and chief financial officer at UTHSC. “Their willingness to take on two projects shows their undying dedication to serving and assisting our community.”
