Meibohm Awarded NIH Instrumentation Grant

Bernd Meibohm, PhD, FCP, associate dean for Research and Graduate Programs and professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Pharmacy has received a shared instrumentation grant in the amount of $315,651 from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This grant will allow for the acquisition of a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer as shared instrumentation that supports 12 NIH-supported research projects in the University of Tennessee Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine focused on drug discovery and development. Targeted indications include the treatments of a variety of cancer types, tuberculosis, radiation injury, and other conditions. The requested instrument will be utilized for the quantification of drug candidates and their metabolites in biological samples in support of these research efforts.Meibohm NIH Grant
