UT Health Science Center Professor Receives NIH Grant

Bernd Meibohm, associate dean for research and graduate programs at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and a professor in the department of pharmaceutical sciences, has received a $315,651 grant from the office of the director of the National Institutes of Health. This grant will allow for the purchase of a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer as shared instrumentation that supports 12 NIH-supported research projects in the University of Tennessee Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine that are focused on drug discovery and development. Targeted indications include the treatments of a variety of cancer types, tuberculosis, radiation injury and other conditions.
