The new COVID-19 boosters are coming

|

A new Covid-19 strain BA.2.86, was identified by the World Health Organization on Aug. 17. and is being monitored worldwide. So far, it has not shown up in Tennessee wastewater samples and the case numbers remain low. “So we don’t know what the percentages are because they’re just that low,” said Dr. Shirin Mazumder, associate professor of infectious diseases at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine. “But it’s something that people are watching closely because it’s different from what is circulating right now.”
