Regional One, UTHSC are conducting COVID-19 clinical trials and they need Memphis volunteers

|

A new potential COVID-19-fighting drug is being tested in Memphis. Researchers on the clinical trials hope the drug will help treat people with COVID-19 who do not require hospitalization and prevent infection among people who have had close contact with someone who tested positive. Regional One Health and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center are partnering on two late-stage clinical trials using the drug, REGN-COV2, developed by biotech company Regeneron. Dr. John Jeffries, professor and chief of the Division of Adult Cardiovascular Diseases at UTHSC and one of the lead researchers on the trial, called the drug a potential game-changer, one that Memphians could have access to earlier than most.
