Dr. Nicholas Hysmith, director of Infection Prevention at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, is a problem solver. “The practice of medicine is a unique opportunity to help those in need while solving complex biological problems,” Hysmith said. “Also, medical providers have the responsibility to address the interconnectedness of health and socioeconomic factors. These are the two main reasons I went into medicine.” Hysmith was nominated for Health Care Heroes for his prescience on the coronavirus.
