Instead, it’s a drug used to treat COVID-19 patients at high risk for acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and death. It was designed and tested by Wei Li, Ph.D. and Duane D. Miller, Ph.D., both of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC).
