Eye Institute grants improved vision to Memphians

Patients filed into a waiting room at Hamilton Eye Institute most of Saturday, before receiving surgery that removes cataracts, a medical condition that impairs vision. The patients were part of the annual two-day Cataract-A-Thon, which provides free cataract surgery to Mid-South patients who are uninsured or unable to access proper care. The event, which ended Saturday, took place in the Hamilton Eye Institute’s Surgery Center at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
