In a world of rising opioid addiction, vaping and oral cancers, 2019 is the year of oral health, says Rear Admiral Timothy Ricks, both the chief dental officer of the U.S. Public Health Service and the nation’s assistant surgeon general.
The Assistant Surgeon General was in the Mid-South Monday. Rear Admiral Timothy Ricks was at UTHSC’s College of Dentistry. Ricks oversees the dentists who serve in numerous federal agencies. Some of those include the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Health Service Corps, and others.
