Join the UTHSC 2018 Annual Outdoor Rec Season Kickoff!

Volunteer to be a part of the Wolf River Conservancy’s 13th Annual Tree Planting today!

Stewardship and appreciation of our local environment is central to the UTHSC Outdoor Recreation program. Please join us as The Wolf River Conservancy hosts their 13th Annual Tree Planting,  March 11th from 2pm-5pm.   This is a wonderful volunteering opportunity that will have a positive impact on the Wolf River Watershed and Shelby County. The tree plant will also be assisting Shelby Farms Park in achieving its ultimate goal of the “One Million Trees” initiative within the Park and the surrounding neighborhoods.

This is a wonderful outdoor stewardship initiative for UTHSC students, faculty and staff! Friends and family are welcome!

The WRC goal is to pot-up and plant over 4,500 native tree seedlings, including 12 species of flowering and bottomland hardwood trees. These trees will be used to restore habitats along the Wolf River and within Shelby Farms Park.

Plant It Forward: Our tree planting will be one of the pick up locations for the Tennessee Environmental Council’s 250K Tree Day. Volunteers will have the opportunity to take home tree seedlings to plant at their desired location.
