TN-CTSI invites you to attend data management and collaboration training this fall

|

TN-CTSI invites you to attend data management and collaboration training this fall: Basic and Advanced Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) training; Research Methods:  “What Am I Estimating During a Study—Measure of Association or Causation?”; and a four-part series, “Collaborating with a Statistician”.

  • The Research Electronic Data Capture REDCap sessions will cover the use for building and managing online databases and surveys. REDCap provides automated export procedures for seamless data downloads to Excel and common statistical packages (SPSS, SAS, Stata, R), as well as a built-in project calendar, a scheduling module, ad hoc reporting tools, and advanced features, such as branching logic, file uploading, calculated fields, and e-consenting.
  • The objectives for the Research Methods: What Am I Estimating During a Study—Measure of Association or Causation?” are: To define the differences between measure of association and causation; to list the measures of associations, and to interpret the measure of association.
  • In the Collaborating with a Statistician series this fall, you will learn about the services that the Biostats, Epidemiology, and Research Design (BERD) Clinic offers, along with how to manage and send data, data security and privacy, intellectual property, data manipulation, consulting vs. collaboration, study design and sample size considerations, making data publicly available, and much more.
