The Tenth Annual Diabetes Regional Conference: Evolving Guidelines for Diabetes Management will address the recent literature and practice guidelines in a manner that is appropriate for providers involved in caring for patients with diabetes. Topics that will be addressed include: 1) an update to the current diabetes standards of care including medication therapy that has recently been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration; 2) an overview of recent changes to guidelines for the management of high blood pressure and dyslipidemia as they apply to patients with diabetes to prevent and manage chronic kidney disease; 3) methods for primary care providers to assess and manage depression in patients with diabetes; and 4) methods to assist with containing medical costs for diabetes that can be implemented in primary care.
