This conference will be held from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm March 28 at the FedEx Event Center, 415 Great View Dr. E., Suite 103, Cordova, 38018. It is designed to provide health care providers such as internists, general practitioners, emergency room physicians, hospitalists, advanced care practice nurses, registered nurses, and social workers with the information they need to treat sickle cell disease pediatric and adult patients. There is no charge for this conference, and continuing medical and nursing hours will be provided.
Keynote speakers include Jane S. Hankins, MD, MS, of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; Wally R. Smith, MD, Florence Neal Cooper Smith Professor of Sickle Cell Disease at Virginia Commonwealth University; Paula J. Tanabe, PhD MSN, FAAN, the Laurel Chadwick Distinguished Professor of Nursing at Duke University; and Russell Ware, MD, PhD, Director of the Division of Hematology Professor at the University of Cincinnati.
