Please participate in our study on Alzheimer’s disease and Related Dementias.

Dr. Devin Casenhiser (principal investigator; PI) and Dr. Eun Jin Paek (co-PI) in the Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center are conducting a study entitled “Conversations with Alzheimer’s Patients.” The purpose of the study is to investigate topics and patterns of conversations between individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) and Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD) and their caregivers. To participate in this study, caregivers will complete an online demographic questionnaire about a family member who has been diagnosed with AD or ADRD. The questionnaire asks for information about the patient’s symptoms, daily routines, and typical topics of conversation. Caregivers will create and upload six audio recordings; two conversations during typical daily routines per day for 3 days.

The participation in this study will take place over three to four days and last no more than a total of 7 hours and 15 minutes including recording of conversations. The participants will receive a $20 Target electronic gift card upon completion of the study.

We would appreciate if you would pass on our contact information if a person appears interested in participating in our study. The following link may be provided to potential participants to determine their eligibility to participate in the study.
