The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship of oral bacteria and metabolism in healthy and obese children ages 6-18 years old. Volunteers will receive an age specific toy, toothbrush and toothpaste, breakfast and $20 in cash for full participation.
The study consists of two (2) visits. Your total time for the study would be about 4 hours for both visits.
TO QUALIFY, YOU MUST:
– Be age 6-18 years old
– Have a BMI greater than 95th percentile, or a BMI between 5th and 85th percentile
– Commit to scheduled visit and appointment
– Meet other characteristics as determined at screening
