Next week the library is offering the following workshops:
Introduction to Embase (Thurs.)
This 30-minute synchronous workshop will introduce faculty, staff, and students to the Embase database. This biomedical database has a number of unique functions to optimize your research, and this workshop will help attendees navigate those options. Though useful to everyone, the workshop will be especially helpful to researchers in the medical device, pharmacology, and basic science fields.
Better Data Visualizations (Thurs.)
This 1 hour workshop explores best practices, common issues, and tools to help researchers create effective data visualizations. The session includes real world examples to demonstrate key concepts in visualizing research data and examples for attendees to practice new understandings. Feel free to bring your own data visuals for discussion!
- Recognize common data visualizations, their best uses, and their limitations
- Become familiar with software and tools for data visualization available to researchers
- Understand the importance of effective visualizations for communicating research results and supporting reproducibility.
