On Friday, May 2, three regional chapters of the Grant Professionals Association will present “Grant Success in the 21st Century: Winning in the Age of Uncertainty,” the first-ever GPA Mid-South Regional Conference. Held on the campus of Christian Brothers University, this day-long conference will provide professional training, development, and networking opportunities for anyone whose duties include researching, applying for, or managing grants.
The conference’s keynote speaker is Dahna Goldstein, founder of PhilanTech, who will speak on the State of Grantseeking. Goldstein said, “Great grant proposals and funder relationships are key to securing grant funding, and so is knowing who is funding what, as well as what trends are impacting the grantseeking field.
The State of Grantseeking survey, conducted semi-annually by GrantStation and PhilanTech, provides insights into key grantseeking metrics and trends to help grantseekers plan their strategies. Learn how the state of grant-seeking can help you win in an age of uncertainty.”
Other confirmed speakers include Johna Rodgers, Vice President of the Grant Professionals Association; Cheryl L. Kester, CFRE, Principal of The Kester Group and author of Writing to Win Federal Grants; Kimberly Hays de Muga, GPC, an Atlanta-based grant professional; Richard Redfearn, Grant Programs Manager, Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas; and Erran Persley of the U.S. Census Bureau.
Panel discussions will include representatives from the Hyde Family Foundations, the Assisi Foundation of Memphis, the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis, the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi, the Arkansas Community Foundation, and more.
Conference sessions will cover basic and advanced concepts related to grant research, project development, grant applications, and post-award management. Both federal and private funding sources will be addressed.
Registration is $99 for GPA members; $125 for non-members and $50 for students. Registration materials are available at gpamidsouth.eventzilla.net. Attendees who are registered for the Alliance for Nonprofit Excellence’s annual conference on May 1 are eligible to receive the GPA member discount.
