The field application specialist from LaVision BioTec will be on campus Friday, June 22nd, to provide an informational session about light sheet microscopy. A seminar will be provided in the CRB auditorium from 12-1:30pm.
Light sheet fluorescence microscopy (LSFM) is a powerful technique to image whole cleared and stained tissue specimens in 3-D at the cellular level that are derived from mammals (such as the whole mouse brain or lungs), or whole small organisms (C. elegans and D. melanogaster).
As part of the new Advanced Animal Imaging (AAI) institutional core that will launch in FY19, the LSFM unit will house the La Vision BioTec UltraMicroscope II and will provide expert consultation regarding its use. The LSFM Unit of the AAI institutional core is directed by Dr. Wen Lin Sun, Department of Pharmacology.
The equipment is located on the second floor of TSRB. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Sun.
