Join the Institutional Review Board for the IRB Insights campus training on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm in the Hamilton Eye Institute’s Freeman Auditorium, 930 Madison, 3rd floor.
Cameron Barclay, MSA, CIP, IRB Director, will present “Consenting Subjects”. The presentation will give direction for obtaining consent / permission from adults, legal guardians and legally authorized representatives. Obtaining assent from minors and adults without decision-making capabilities will be covered. In addition, the presentation will include obtaining consent from subjects who do not speak English, illiterate subjects, visually and hearing impaired subjects, and waiver/alteration of informed consent.
A light lunch will be provided for the first 50 attendees.
The auditorium is easily accessible for attendees without a UTHSC badge coming from off campus. Parking is available in the covered garage adjacent to the 930 Madison Building. For those that attend in-person, certificates for 1 education contact hour will be sent to you electronically after the session.
