The College of Pharmacy will celebrate the retirement of Dr. Stephan L. Foster on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM in the Pharmacy Building Lobby.

Dr. Foster is a Professor, past Vice Chair of Community Pharmacy Affairs, current Director of IPPE in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine.  A retired Captain from the US Public Health Service, Dr. Foster has been a strong advocate for the pharmacist’s role in public health. He has personally trained hundreds of pharmacists as immunizers and through his work with student pharmacists has facilitated the vaccination of more than 10,000 Tennesseans annually. His collaboration within and outside of pharmacy has led to his appointment by the governor of Tennessee to chair a new committee on cervical cancer vaccination. The state also has used his knowledge and skills in the development and implementation of its pandemic preparedness plan.

Dr. Foster is retiring after more than 18 years of service to the Department of Clinical Pharmacy. Please join us as we bid him farewell and celebrate his many contributions to UTHSC and the College of Pharmacy.
