Throughout her 43-year career at UTHSC/Le Bonheur, Dr. Ward has been quite active and engaged in a variety of areas that integrate research, teaching and patient care. She is well-published and has secured several extramural grants over the years, yet it is her multifaceted commitment to the care of children with inborn errors of metabolism that is her greatest legacy, an effort that in many cases has involved generations within families. Her patients uniformly love her and reciprocally, she is dedicated to and genuinely cares for their well-being. She is unpretentious, with a calm demeanor, always pleasant, professional and culturally sensitive in her interactions with patients, families, colleagues and trainees, all seasoned with a quick wit and sense of humor. We wish her well as she moves on to her next adventure!
