The Office of Equity and Diversity is accepting applications for the fall 2018 session of the Diversity Certificate Program (DCP), a FREE three-month program where participants will explore their own backgrounds, identities and values, and connect those to the foundational concepts of diversity and inclusion. The application period closes this Friday, August 17.
Studies continue to show that diversity in the workplace increases profitability, innovation, and value creation. The DCP seeks to harness these benefits as we work to foster and sustain a diverse and inclusive culture where we respect and engage all members of the UTHSC community.
This program is truly unique, because it brings staff and faculty members from all over campus and at all levels of seniority into one room where they have the opportunity to discuss real issues without judgment or reproach. Each member of the cohort has a voice and an opportunity to contribute to our understanding of diversity, inclusion, and what that means for us all at UTHSC
Through this program you will:
- Enhance your cultural competence
- Identify and address unconscious bias
- Learn strategies for conflict resolution
- Understand the complaint process and accommodation process
- Explore many other aspects of diversity
