COVID-19 Vaccine Scams – Cybersecurity Alert

This really shouldn’t come as a surprise, but there are reports of numerous scams online, in emails and messaging apps, claiming they can deliver shots (vaccine) within days for $150.

Reuters did an online search and found in dark web forums seven different offers for alleged COVID-19 vaccines.

Website domains containing the word vaccine in combination with COVID-19 or coronavirus more than doubled since October to roughly 2,500 in November, when the first legitimate vaccines were nearing regulatory approval, according to cybersecurity firm Recorded Future, which is tracking COVID-19 fraud online.

Bottom line, COVID-19 vaccines cannot be purchased online for home delivery, and most approved for emergency use have specific guidelines on temperature controls. Any message found about this almost certainly a scam. You can read the entire Reuters article here
