The Frayser Urban Community Garden was established in 2021 to improve access to locally grown, nutritional foods for Frayser residents. The Garden is a collaboration of the residents of Frayser, the City of Memphis Division of Parks and Neighborhoods, UTHSC College of Medicine Board of Visitors, and the University of Tennessee Extension Institute of Agriculture. While volunteering alongside members of the Garden Council, College of Medicine students will be disseminating health information on healthy eating, disease prevention and COVID-19 prevention or assisting with garden care.
