Campus Community,
Thank you for contributing to the success of our 7th Annual Campus Holiday Food Drive. You donated more than 1,390 pounds of food (1,158 meals) that will feed those in need in our community. Beyond that, by “packing” the orange piggy banks located around campus, your pocket change, dollars and checks produced big results. For every $1 that was donated, the Mid-South Food Bank is able to purchase $6.75 worth of food and other necessary items. During the four-week period from Nov. 3rd through Dec. 1st, you donated $3,000, and the Food Bank was able to purchase over $20,000 worth of food or 9,000 meals. In total, your donations of food and money provided 10,158 meals to feed the hungry.
Again, we appreciate your generous support.
The UT Health Science Center is truly dedicated to improving the lives of Tennesseans and residents in this region. We especially appreciate the team leaders who helped lead this charge. Let’s continue to wage the war against hunger in our region. The orange pigs will remain on campus inviting everyone to continue to “feed” them with donations for the Mid-South Food Bank and this will allow us to feed those who are hungry in our community.
