Title: Introduction to Statistical Simulations
Abstract: In statistical methodology research, simulations are among the ways to describe and compare the operating characteristics of proposed methods against existing methods if any. Depending on the response variables of interest in such simulations, univariate or multivariate, iterative or non-iterative, statistical simulations must be designed very carefully to produce generalizable, repeatable, and reproducible conclusions in any given platform and this task is much more difficult and under-recognized than researchers may think. In this workshop, we provide a brief introduction to statistical simulations. In future workshops following this particular one, we will provide simulation approaches for much more complex and specific challenges.
We look forward to seeing you all among us.
