In a hybrid or fully online course, online discussions can provide students with the opportunity to express ideas, think about course content, apply course concepts to real-world situations, interact with classmates and faculty, and reflect on attitudes or values. However, it can be challenging to create discussion questions that engage students in critical thinking and encourage robust interaction. Register to participate in the Online Learning Consortium (formerly known as Sloan-C) webinar taking place this Wednesday (July 30th) where strategies and tips for meeting these challenges will be discussed.
