Dr. Betty Ferrell, a nursing expert on end-of-life care, will be presenting on Friday, November 7th from 8:30 am-Noon at the Memphis Bioworks Auditorium, 20 Dudley St, Memphis, TN 38103. This presentation is funded by the Cashdollar Distinguished Visiting Professor Endowment, and aims to bring together health care professionals and the community interested in end-of-life care. Dr. Ferrell holds a master’s degree in theology, ethics and culture and a PhD in nursing. Her writings include books such as “Making Health Care Whole: Integrating Spirituality into Patient Care,” “The Nature of Suffering and the Goals of Nursing,” “Oxford Textbook of Palliative Nursing,” “Pain in the Elderly” and “Cancer Pain Management,” as well as numerous articles. She is an engaging speaker and has a holistic perspective on the needs of patients and their families who are faced with end-of-life issues.
