The Ride to Fight On

|

UntitledWe are excited to announce that on Saturday, October 11, 2014,  the inaugural Ride to Fight On benefiting the West Cancer Center will hit the streets. This epic ride will become an annual cycling event made possible through our partnership with the Memphis Hightailers Bicycle Club, the largest cycling club in Memphis. This event is designed so that fundraising efforts will support research and education that ultimately will lead to cures! Please consider supporting this event by riding, donating or becoming a sponsor. Join us as we work each day to lessen the burden of cancer.

The West Clinic is the largest provider of cancer care in Memphis and the Mid-South. In order to expand services and continue to provide the most extensive care possible, we have recently received approval from the state to form a comprehensive cancer center with all services under one roof. West Cancer Center will focus our efforts on research and education by recruiting cancer-focused translational scientists who will make a significant impact on the care of cancer patients who come to us for their life-saving treatment. The Ride to Fight On event will provide much-needed funds to strengthen these initiatives.

This signature event will have routes for cyclists of all skill levels – novice to elite – and distances of 20, 40, 62, 100, and 124 miles. The ride will commence at the FedEx Forum and travel a course up the banks of the Mississippi River and north through Shelby Forest State Park. After the ride, a bike expo will be held where riders, fundraisers and Fighters will be able to shop for the latest in cycling equipment and gear. Afterward, everyone will join together for food, drinks, and entertainment at our official after party at the FedEx Forum. This celebration is open to patients, survivors, friends, families, and of course, biking enthusiasts. The goal of Ride to Fight On is not only to show support for anyone who has been touched by cancer, but also to raise funds for West Cancer Center. We anticipate that 2,000 cyclists will join us on October 11.

Your support will help create a home for comprehensive cancer care in our community. Please join us in supporting our patients and their families in their Fight On at home!
